Lindsey Hiebert, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor at Northern Arizona University and Director of the Bilingual Intervention and Language Learning (BILL) lab. She earned a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas and completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Delaware. Her research interests include dual language development, disorders, and intervention in bilingual preschool and school-age children, stemming from her extensive clinical work with culturally and linguistically diverse populations. Her publications to date include longitudinal observations of language and reading development in Spanish-English bilingual children across three or more years, and language intervention paired with science curriculum for children with developmental language disorder (DLD).��

My name is Summer Rowan. I am currently a first-year graduate student in the Clinical Speech-Language Pathology master’s program at Northern Arizona University. I am interested in bilingual language learning research, specifically the early years of language acquisition. I enjoy fishing for trout at various spots in Flagstaff.��

My name is Alexandria Genandt and and currently a senior at Northern Arizona University. I am majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders, as well as Japanese with a minor in Spanish. I am most interested in language retention and attrition in bilingual children. In addition to my studies and duties at the university, I am an amateur trail runner and enjoy hiking. よろしくお願いします。��

Hello! My name is Guyliliane Kuete, and I am currently completing my final year of undergraduate studies in communication sciences and disorders. Additionally, I am enrolled in my first year of graduate school in the Accelerated BS to MS program in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology at Northern Arizona University. My research interests lie in bilingual language, particularly focusing on the design of bilingual Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. I enjoy painting and other art-related endeavors like crafts.

My name is Ella Guardado. I am currently a senior at Northern Arizona University studying Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Spanish. I am interested in bilingual language research and am really excited to be a part of this team! I enjoy hiking and camping in and around Flagstaff.��

My name is Catherine Garrido Retiguin, and I am currently a Junior double majoring in Health Sciences- Fitness Wellness and Spanish with hopes in receiving my DPT in the future and working towards providing interpretation in the healthcare field. Within the BILL lab, I researched Code Switching in Bilingual Child Language and presented it at NAU’s Undergraduate Symposium in Spring of 2024. One of my favorite things to do in my free time is learn recipes and cook for others!��

My name is Juan Alvarado. I graduated in 2024 with my bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from Northern Arizona University. I am very interested in research behind speech therapy services provided to bilingual individuals, as well as research dealing with swallowing evaluations. In my free time, I enjoy spending time in nature or with my friends and I love traveling.
