NAU hosts several performance facilities for Kitt School of Music students
The Kitt School of Music is primarily located in the Performing and Fine Arts (PFA) building on the Flagstaff mountain campus. The PFA, located at the corner of Riordan Road and S. Knoles Drive, is also home to Ardrey Memorial Auditorium, the Department of Theatre, and the School of Art. The Kitt School of Music also occupies the Ponderosa building. Please see the north campus map for the exact location.

Performance facilities Accordion Closed
is a 1,330 capacity performing arts auditorium. Ardrey is the performance home for the Kitt School of Musicās large concert ensembles, including the NAU Symphony, Chamber Symphony, Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony, and Opera Theater (spring production only).
Ashurst Hall is a historic recital stage with seating for up to 300. The majority of student solo recitals and small ensemble performances are held in Ashurst. Many faculty and guest recitals and performances are also held in Ashurst.
is a student-run, learning lab facility. In addition to movies, comedians, and concerts, this 900 seat venue hosts NAU Opera during the fall term. The auditorium is located on the NAU campus at the corner of Dupont Ave. and Knoles Dr.
Other venues in which Kitt School of Music ensembles regularly perform include the Ā (Marching Band),Ā Du Bois CenterĀ (Choral Studies-Holiday Dinner), theĀ , local historic churches, etc.

Technology facilities Accordion Closed
Technology resources that support music instruction in the Northern Arizona University Kitt School of Music include a dedicated music computer labĀ (MCL) with eighteen workstations equipped with MIDI keyboards and software to enable the composition and editing of music files. The lab computers are equipped with a wide variety of software to facilitate other music class assignments. Printing also is available.
The majority of classrooms are equipped with technology resources, including computers, projectors, audio playback devices, pad cameras, and software to allow faculty to provide the multimedia enriched classroom experience necessary for student learning. Our music education classroom also incorporates SMART Board technology. Plans are being developed to mediate the remaining classrooms and rehearsal halls in the near future.
Appropriate computer resources are likewise provided to School of Music faculty to develop efficient and multi-faceted teaching resources across the spectrum of classroom needs.

Early hours access request form
Procedures for early-hours and after-hours MCL access:
- Print and complete the request form
- Have the Music faculty member who has assigned you the activity requiring lab access sign the form.
- Bring the completed form and your student ID card to room 120 in Performing and Fine Arts (building 37)
- You will be issued an entry code number if your request is approved.
Other music notation resources for NAU students
The software is calledĀ Ā and appears in theĀ virtual lab software list.
Firefox has a Sibelius Scorch plugin, which is also available through the virtual lab and the PC campus image. It allows online editing of existing Sibelius files.
